The best exercise is to take a dumbbell in both hands and shrug your shoulder up as high as they will go, and bring them down very slowly, create more resistance.

Another muscle that is crucial to the strength of your back is your deltoids. There various ways that you can work out your deltoids. However, the most common way is to take dumbbell in your hand, with your elbow at your side, and make sure that your forearm is out level with the map. You will the extend you arm out until it's at shoulder height so you are able to look straight down your arm at the dumbbell.

To build up the lower trapezius muscle (the part of the trap that runs down your ribs), you're going to want a sitting down 'V-bar pull down', where you're pulling down against resistance; this is better than a straight pull up because it isolates the muscle thoroughly.

Building definition, and most importantly, strength, in the lower back requires shoulder arches. Hold a light dumb-bell over the back of your neck and lay down on your front. With your hands clasped, arch your back, lift, and hold for a count of three, then lower slowly. Do these sparingly; it's very easy to overdo them.

Making sure that you do not strain your muscles is essential here, so you will want to do various stretches before you work out.

The good news is that a restriction in calories doesn't necessarily mean eating less food. If you do this the right way, you can actually eat more volume of food while eating less calories.

Many Uses of Siberian Chaga Mushroom

Siberian chaga mushroom appears as a black mass on birch trees, dead or alive. Occasionally, it may also be seen growing on hornbeam, ash, elm or beech.

Europeans have used chaga for centuries as a cure for digestive ailments, tuberculosis, and cancers of the liver and heart. [121]

Traditionally, the black "skin" of the mushroom was removed and the light inside boiled into tea. As a naturally compact remedy, it was conveniently portable to ancient healers.

Today's scientific focus on chaga extract is primarily as an anti-tumor remedy. In fact, it was approved in Russia as a cancer drug already in 1955, successfully used to treat cancers of the stomach, lungs, breasts and cervix. [122]

A 1998 study on chaga extract showed that it did inhibit growth of cervical cancer in a lab. [123] And a 1995 study reported both growth inhibition and death of melanoma cells, also in a lab (in vitro). [124, 25]

Other research papers also confirm that some of the active compounds of chaga help retard the growth of cancer cells. [125, 126]

Betulin is a medically active compound from the birch tree that gets concentrated in the black outer skin of the chaga mushroom, which has been found to contain 30% betulin, [127] whereas the inside of the chaga mushroom contains fungal lanostanes. It would therefore be suggested that chaga tea is better made from the whole mushroom, including the black skin.

Better yet are chaga extracts made with both the mycelium ("root") and the whole mushroom fruit body. The mycelium is richer in medicinally active proteins than the mushroom itself.

Research on chaga has also reported potent anti-viral properties. Two studies on influenza virus [127] and HIV [128] were published with positive results in 1996. Chaga probably works on viruses indirectly by enhancing the human immune system, as indicated by two papers published in 2002 and 2005. [25, 129] Historical use of chaga as an anti-inflammatory may be attributed to that same mechanism. [130]

Furthermore, alcohol extract of chaga mushroom has been found to lower blood sugar levels. [131] Chaga also demonstrates significant antioxidant properties that help protect the genetic integrity of the cells. [132, 133]

As an interesting anecdote that does not relate to human health but demonstrates the curative power of the Chaga mushroom, Paul Stamets mentions a Quebec arborist who uses a chaga poultice to cure chestnut blight. It not only cures the infection but the tree even becomes blight resistant after treatment. [134]

Finally, in the book Mycelium Running, Paul Stamets lists the following additional areas of research on chaga with positive results: Bacteria; uterine cancer; liver conditions. [134]

There is a quick screening tool that can give you an idea if you or someone you know may be suffering from an eating disorder. While eating disorder symptoms are vast, these questions will indicate if there is a problem.

Do you make yourself sick because you feel uncomfortably full?

Bulimia is associated with the urge to get rid of food. This is not just vomiting, as there are many techniques a person with bulimia will use. There are many behaviors a person can use when they feel too full. These habits include laxative use, compulsive overexercise and restriction.

Do you ever feel as though you have no control over the amount you eat?

The most common indicator of an eating disorder is feeling out of control with food. This feeling is common in compulsive overeating, binge eating disorder and bulimia. If you or someone you know feels this way, you need to get help.

Has your weight dropped 15 pounds or more recently?

Obviously this question is pointing at anorexic behaviors. Do note, this is excessive weight loss from any starting weight. The individual suffering with anorexic habits may not actually be underweight. If someone starts out at a weight above normal, they can lose a lot of weight and still appear healthy. It is just as crucial for a person who remains in a normal range to get treatment for their disorder.

Is there a big difference in how others see your weight versus how you see it?

Making Tasty Lemon Cupcakes Out of Poppy Seeds

In a wide variety of cuisines, poppy seeds have been given great importance due to its health properties.

In most cases, poppy seeds are more popular in baked goods such as cakes, bread, muffins, and a lot more. One popular baked recipe that uses poppy seeds and a fine choice for snacks and desserts is the lemon poppy seed cupcake. For this mouth watering recipe, you will be using sugar, softened butter, zest of lemon, vanilla extract, blue poppy seeds, all purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and yoghurt. For the icing as a delectable topping, you will need an icing sugar and lemon juice or water.

To start with, grease the muffin cups properly and evenly. Have the oven preheated under the temperature of 400 degrees Fahrenheit r 200 degrees Celsius. While doing this, you can start mixing the sugar and butter utilizing the stand mixer within 3 minutes until it gets creamy and light. You may then start adding the eggs one at a time as you continue with the stirring with an interval of one minute in each gap.

After all the eggs have been added, you may then throw in the lemon zest and the vanilla extract. Afterwhich, add on the blue poppy seeds into the mixture. On a separate bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients. After several minutes of mixing the wet ones, you may then lower the speed and carefully add the dry ingredients and the yoghurt alternately in a 3 parts flour and 2 parts yoghurt and in a way that you start and end with the flour.

You may then start pouring the prepared mixture into its moulds and properly even out the top before placing them into the oven. For about 18 to 20 minutes, bake the mixture into the oven. To properly determine whether or not the muffins are already well baked, you can do so through a thin knife. After having securely determined that the muffins are already fully baked, you may start getting them out of their moulds and wait for five minutes to have all of them cooled down. The cooling factor is important before you start adding the icing on top to avoid melting the icing as it will look differently.

For making the icing, you must first stir the icing sugar with the lemon juice until it gets moist. Add a little in every interval while you continue stirring the mixture until you have achieved the desired texture. The perfect texture for the icing is white and creamy which will serve as the muffin's mouth watering topping. And there you go, the healthiest and tastiest thing you can go for a dessert or snack.

Gain Muscle Or Lose Fat? That Is The Question

Are you ready for my famous "gain muscle or lose fat" chart? I know this is going to make a few people mad, but it's the truth about whether a guy should lose fat or gain muscle. If he doesn't stick to my recommendations, he won't get the ripped abs and muscles he wants.

Ok, you'll never get ripped if you have some extra pounds, but if you don't have enough you just will look starving. It's necessary to have those extra pounds in order to gain some muscle later. What some guys doesn't realize is that there is a time to lose fat, and a time to gain muscle.

Its necessary to succeed to know what is your main goal, what you really need. If you need to lose fat or to gain muscle. Through my experience in working with athletes and dozens of men in the gym trying to lose fat and gain muscle, I've come up with a height-weight chart that determines whether or not you should lose weight. It's something like this: 5'6" - 140 pounds. 5'7" - 145 pounds. 5'8" - 150 pounds. 5'9" - 155 pounds. 5'10 - 160 pounds. Let me explain how to use this chart.

And so on. For every inch taller, add 5 pounds. For every inch shorter, subtract 5 pounds. For example, if you are 5'8", 150 pounds, you should NOT be focusing on losing weight. You need to gain muscle if you want to look good on the beach and have muscle. Focusing on weight loss would be the worst thing you could do. If you do, you'll look like crap, and practically anorexic, to be blunt.

Instead, you must focus on gaining muscle. This will improve the appearance of your body, and take you from a stick-figure to a lean, muscular physique with a better chance of seeing your abs. And don't worry, you're not going to look huge. At 5'8", a guy would have to be at least 180 in order to be considered "jacked" or "huge". And the best news of all? Because skinny guys are untrained, simply starting a body building program will give them maximum fat loss and muscle gain at the same time. They are going to get the best of both worlds.

Do you want to know how to use Turbulence Training to gain muscle and lose fat? Simply stick to the weight training workouts only. Avoid the hard interval cardio for at least 4 weeks as you gain muscle, and eat extra calories right after your workout (as well as having a bigger breakfast than normal). These two changes will allow you to gain muscle and lose fat.
